EX switches feature the smallest UL-listedhousings available for use in hazardous locations.Flame paths within the housingcool exploding gases below the kindlingtemperature before they reach the explosivegases surrounding the housing.The enclosed switching unit, which is held inplace by screws, is accessible when thecover plate is removed. A tapped conduitopening is located in one end of one groupof EX listings; while a second group has a conduitopening in each end of the switch.These switches are not sealed against liquidsand are not intended to be subjected toliquid splash or for outdoor applications. If asealed explosion-proof switch is required,refer to the type CX and LSX.
